Fitness Goal 2015

My Fitness Goals

Been so busy with work, university applications and my TEFL course that I haven't had a lot of time for myself. Getting so much new gym wear for xmas so I have decided to set myself some fitness goals for 2015:

Im happy with my weight & size but as I am going traveling for 6 months then starting university I want to make sure I have something to work towards and not get lazy as I won't have my gym membership!

-Run more, beaches, streets, countryside, where ever I am, try and run more
-Enjoy the local food in the countries I am living in
-Don't weigh myself, just enjoy a healthy lifestyle
-More sit ups & squats
-Eat less, move more.

What I'm currently reading

Love choosing new books to read, Waterstone had a offer on so I have decided to buy a few new books to read over Autumn.

Im about half way through 'Since you've been gone' and its such a great book. Its basically about a girl who's friend disappears one day, but she has left her a list of things to do. So her friend sets out to complete the list in hope that her friend will return.

I am excited to start reading the John Green books, I loved Fault in out stars so much, and really enjoyed Will Grayson so I am hoping theses two are just as good!

Anyone got any reviews on these John Green books? Would you recommend them?

Well not an expert but I do know a lot about them. I have taken part in 5 beauty pageants over the past few years and I also completed my university assignment on beauty pageants ;)

Beauty pageants are so much fun, you meet so many girls and its a great weekend. In the run up to the event you make appearances in your local community and fundraise for charity. I have been so lucky to have such amazing business sponsors that have supported me to compete.

quotes

#blogtoper14 Day 15: Favourite quote and why.

I don't know who wrote this quote but I absolutely love it. Reminds me on being on ferries in Thailand travelling to a new island. I can't wait to go back there one day soon.

Encourage her to be as free as the ocean, as deep as the ocean, as wild as the ocean and as powerful as the ocean. Be so full in your loving, so strong and stable in your presence, that she can just let go and surrender the limits she has put on her feelings. Let the emotions of her heart flow unguarded. Let her love be expressed with no limits. Let her go mad with love.

Halloween #TBT

Day 8 of #blogtoper14  - Halloween memories

My best Halloween memory was years ago. My brother and me got dressed up to go trick or treating. We wanted to show out next door neighbour what we looked like so we went over to there house, nobody answered the door so we just walked in. Our neighbour was lying asleep on the sofa and we stood over him, few minutes later he woke up with such a shock. It was hilarious!

Worst memory was when my boyfriend at the time told us that the best time to go tick or treating was the day before Halloween, because they have all the sweets in and its not as busy. So we got all dressed up, major effort in our costumes and set of. Nobody answered the door to us, those that did said we got the wrong day, and it was freezing, worst experience ever

Best/Worse Vacation

Day 6 of #blogtoper14  - Best and worse vacations

All my vacations have been different, so this question today is very difficult. I have traveled around Thailand for 6 weeks, and around the state of New England, America. Had beach holidays in the Caribbean, school trips to Europe, cruises around Egypt.

Best vacation ever...  Dominican republic 2012

This place was lush. White sand beaches, gorgeous weather, it was perfect. We stayed hear for 2 weeks. During this time we went to paradise island, went snorkelling, amazing meals, sunbathed, and relaxed. I would absolutely love to go back hear. Most amazing beaches ever.

I don't have a worst vacation, but hears the worst bits of a few vacations

In Austria within 5 minutes of arriving I jumped straight on the trampolines and fractured my wrist.

In Egypt our tour bus left without me & my roomie, and a man tried to sell us for 3 camels.

In America, we were biking around Cape Cod and I was trying hard to keep up with everyone, when we had a rest i realised bikes had gears and I had been in the wrong one for the whole time!

(Best american pancakes ever!)

Fav Instagram photo

So its day 4 of #blogtober14, today is: Your favourite photo you have posted on Instagram.

So hear it is:

This was taken when I was in Thailand summer 14. I was volunteering for a week in a school in Sangkhlaburi. On my 1st day this little girl ran over to me, she wanted to much attention and always wanted carried about. She loved taking selfies and playing on my phone. She knew exactly how to use it and everything! We were so amazed about that! These children have so little but yet they are so happy!

Ever since I have got back I have been looking into a new volunteering project, I have a selection day in London next week, so hopefully I get to go abroad In January with ICS volunteering for Restless Development!!!

No1.

Todays topic on #blogtober14 is one thing you can't live without.
I can't live without my phone, and hears some of my reasons why:

1. Its my calendar. Ha seriously, I feel so unorganised without. Its literally my whole life. My calendar is all colour coded as I am super organised. I would feel lost without it.

2. Its my satnav. I can barely find my way across town without using my maps app. Every time I get in my car I need this.

3. Communication, how would I be able to communicate? I have loads of friends that don't live nearby, and my best friend is in the Army. How would I be able to contact him without my phone.

And of course there many other reasons such as its my camera, music, alarm clock, currency converter when I'm abroad, and of course snapchat ;)

What can't you live without?

Freshers rep

Such a fun busy week. It was the start of freshers at Cumbria and I was a welcome helper, as I was working throughout the day so I was helping out on the night time activities. So we have had the welcome party. pub quiz, bar crawl (best night of the week!), school disco and the frat party! The whole week was so much fun, however I am glad I have got a night in tonight as I feel so ill now!

This makes me so excited to get back to university next year. I looked at Newcastle today, and I LOVE it!

How was your freshers week?

Belgium - Brussles

My bother and I travelled to Belgium for a few days this summer. The weather was very, very wet and rainy, (some people where wearing umbrella hats!)

The best part about Brussels is the food, there are so many little tasty chocolate shops, belgian waffles and not forgetting the fries! The beer is also very good. I don't usually drink beer as I don't like the taste, however on our 1st night we found this amazing bar called Delirium. It hold the world record for the most about of beers, there is over 2,000 so I knew there would be one that I liked. I tried 'Floris Mango' and I loved it. Its a sweet easy drinking beer.

Our 1st day we spent exploring the city, we walked up and down the streets and seen the famous attractions such as Grand-Place, Mannaken Piss, St Michael and St Gudula Cathedral. We tasted chocolates in Les Galleries Saint Hubert. This was there the best chocolate shops where, we took so much home with us at the end of our trip! It was just so good. We also ate lots of waffles and fries. Basically we spent the day enjoying Brussels and the food.

On our2nd day we took a city sightseeing bus, so we could explore the city further out of the centre and see all the other sights. You could hop and hop of the bus as many times as you liked. You could also plug your headphones in and there was a guide telling you about everything in your own language. For tea we found a great all you can eat ribs restaurant called Amadeus  It looked so small from the outside but once you step inside its huge. The ribs came with potato and salad. You also get a huge 1..5 litre bottle of wine on your table, you pay the wine by the cm but its very cheap.

Thailand

Thailand was amazing. I spent 6 weeks hear this summer and  I visited Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Sangkhlaburi and Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Krabi, Koh Phi Phi and Phuket and Koh Chang.

The whole month was filled with so many different once in a lifetime opportunities that I will never forget. I was playing with baby tigers, visiting temples, volunteering in a school, swimming with elephants, meditating with monks, trekking through a jungle, full moon party’s and making lifelong friends.

Bangkok was crazy, I spent my 1st and last 2 nights hear on Koh San Road. The start of the trip I shopped at the markers and ate amazing food and got to know my group, the last few nights me and my friend Laura visited shopping malls, visited Sky bar and sunbathed on our roof top of our hotel! The nightlife was great, buckets were the best in Thailand and laughing gas was so cheep!
Sangkhlaburi was literally in the middle of nowhere. Its such a small town but it has everything you need such as a 711, cute coffee shops, relaxed bars, friendly locals and a post office. I spent 10 nights hear whilst I was volunteering in a small thai school. Volunteering was amazing, in the morning I was playing with the children giving them much needed attention and in the afternoon whilst they were sleeping I was mixing cement to build them a path. It was also in Sangkhaburi when I completed my 10K jungle trek. I camped out in the jungle in a locals tree house,  it was pretty cool. We got given dinner and the locals had a slush machine and were making us vodka slushes to drink before we went to bed!

Koh Phangan was paradise, after spending 3 weeks traveling now was time to relax and party. Out hotel was away from Had Rinn beach so we basically had the whole beach to ourselves. It was unreal, it was completely untouched. I went to the half moon party & full moon party, both were crazy. Full moon was so busy you could barely move on the beach, and there was a sleeping area for those that get a bit to drunk! Koh Phangan was where me and Laura left the group to continue traveling and everyone else headed home!

Koh Samui won the best nightlife in Thailand. We stayed at Ark bar which was amazing, there was 3 pools and party’s everyday, we were right in the middle of everything & right on the beach. The night life was just crazy, there is no other way to describe it! Bar Ice is a must in Koh Samui, its the best ice bar in Thailand!

Phi Phi Island was cute, there are no cars on this island and you walk everywhere. The view from the viewpoint is amazing, you can see the whole island, its worth the trek up there. The ‘beach’ beach was a bit overcrowd but still lovely, even though I haven’t seen the movie yet!

Koh Chang was definitely worth the 16 hours of traveling. This is where we got to go swimming with elephants. This was truly a highlight of my time in Thailand and I was definitely the best way to spend out last day on the islands. Koh Chang is more of a relaxed island, so we drank cocktails (banana & Malibu our fav) on the beach and watched the fire-show before heading to bed.
