Belgium - Brussles

My bother and I travelled to Belgium for a few days this summer. The weather was very, very wet and rainy, (some people where wearing umbrella hats!)

The best part about Brussels is the food, there are so many little tasty chocolate shops, belgian waffles and not forgetting the fries! The beer is also very good. I don't usually drink beer as I don't like the taste, however on our 1st night we found this amazing bar called Delirium. It hold the world record for the most about of beers, there is over 2,000 so I knew there would be one that I liked. I tried 'Floris Mango' and I loved it. Its a sweet easy drinking beer.

Our 1st day we spent exploring the city, we walked up and down the streets and seen the famous attractions such as Grand-Place, Mannaken Piss, St Michael and St Gudula Cathedral. We tasted chocolates in Les Galleries Saint Hubert. This was there the best chocolate shops where, we took so much home with us at the end of our trip! It was just so good. We also ate lots of waffles and fries. Basically we spent the day enjoying Brussels and the food.

On our2nd day we took a city sightseeing bus, so we could explore the city further out of the centre and see all the other sights. You could hop and hop of the bus as many times as you liked. You could also plug your headphones in and there was a guide telling you about everything in your own language. For tea we found a great all you can eat ribs restaurant called Amadeus  It looked so small from the outside but once you step inside its huge. The ribs came with potato and salad. You also get a huge 1..5 litre bottle of wine on your table, you pay the wine by the cm but its very cheap.

Thailand

Thailand was amazing. I spent 6 weeks hear this summer and  I visited Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Sangkhlaburi and Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Krabi, Koh Phi Phi and Phuket and Koh Chang.

The whole month was filled with so many different once in a lifetime opportunities that I will never forget. I was playing with baby tigers, visiting temples, volunteering in a school, swimming with elephants, meditating with monks, trekking through a jungle, full moon party’s and making lifelong friends.

Bangkok was crazy, I spent my 1st and last 2 nights hear on Koh San Road. The start of the trip I shopped at the markers and ate amazing food and got to know my group, the last few nights me and my friend Laura visited shopping malls, visited Sky bar and sunbathed on our roof top of our hotel! The nightlife was great, buckets were the best in Thailand and laughing gas was so cheep!
Sangkhlaburi was literally in the middle of nowhere. Its such a small town but it has everything you need such as a 711, cute coffee shops, relaxed bars, friendly locals and a post office. I spent 10 nights hear whilst I was volunteering in a small thai school. Volunteering was amazing, in the morning I was playing with the children giving them much needed attention and in the afternoon whilst they were sleeping I was mixing cement to build them a path. It was also in Sangkhaburi when I completed my 10K jungle trek. I camped out in the jungle in a locals tree house,  it was pretty cool. We got given dinner and the locals had a slush machine and were making us vodka slushes to drink before we went to bed!

Koh Phangan was paradise, after spending 3 weeks traveling now was time to relax and party. Out hotel was away from Had Rinn beach so we basically had the whole beach to ourselves. It was unreal, it was completely untouched. I went to the half moon party & full moon party, both were crazy. Full moon was so busy you could barely move on the beach, and there was a sleeping area for those that get a bit to drunk! Koh Phangan was where me and Laura left the group to continue traveling and everyone else headed home!

Koh Samui won the best nightlife in Thailand. We stayed at Ark bar which was amazing, there was 3 pools and party’s everyday, we were right in the middle of everything & right on the beach. The night life was just crazy, there is no other way to describe it! Bar Ice is a must in Koh Samui, its the best ice bar in Thailand!

Phi Phi Island was cute, there are no cars on this island and you walk everywhere. The view from the viewpoint is amazing, you can see the whole island, its worth the trek up there. The ‘beach’ beach was a bit overcrowd but still lovely, even though I haven’t seen the movie yet!

Koh Chang was definitely worth the 16 hours of traveling. This is where we got to go swimming with elephants. This was truly a highlight of my time in Thailand and I was definitely the best way to spend out last day on the islands. Koh Chang is more of a relaxed island, so we drank cocktails (banana & Malibu our fav) on the beach and watched the fire-show before heading to bed.

Beauty Queen

In March I took part in the Miss England Galaxy grand final!
2 years ago I took part in the Miss Teen England Galaxy finals so I knew what to expect and I was very excited!
The whole day was so fun. My boyfriend drove me and my mum down in the morning so the night before I had arranged to meet a few of the girls at reception. All the girls I met during the whole day were lovely, they all deserved to win and you could see why we were all chosen. They were all beautiful inside and out.
So throughout the day we had rehearsals. During this we learnt our opening number dance and practiced introducing ourselves on stage. After dinner the current Mrs Galaxy UK and Miss Galaxy England gave us some tips when we practiced our pageant walks.
I also had my interview throughout the day. This was with 8 judges! I thought I answered the questions really well, I was asked to tell them a bit about myself, who my role model was, what I qualities I could bring to the crown and where I see myself in 5 years!
After rehearsals it was time to get ready! I had my makeup done by Anna-may. She was so talented. She applied airbrushed foundation and gave me silver sparkly eyes to match my evening gown. Then next it was time for my hair. Duncan, who is well known in pageant world as being a fantastic hairdresser assistant styled my hair. I decided to have it up as when I tried on my dresses the night before my gran and boyfriend said it would look best up. So I left it up to Duncan to make my hair look amazing.
So once I had finished getting ready I got changed into my opening number and sat back stage chatting with the girls.
Once the pageant had started it all went so fast. My boyfriend said I had introduced myself perfectly on stage, which I was so glad as I was worried incase I messed it up! Then next it was fashion wear, I was concentrating so hard that I actually walked at the wrong time! After this was swimwear and then evening wear!
There can only be one winner and its not the winning but the taking part that counts. We all had the confidence to get up on stage and do it and I am so proud of myself for doing this again. This is my 3rd beauty pageant and every time I have improved.

Have you taken part in a beauty pageant before?
